Dissidia Final Fantasy

hey there, job has been a bummer lately cuz animation repairs needed to be done and we’re pushing to release the scenes for the sound studio to produce the sound effects. Anyway, I’ve just started playing Dissidia Final Fantasyby Square Enix and this shall be my 1st review in this blog.

1st of all about the game, Dissidia Final Fantasy is a versus mode gameplay compiling from Final Fantasy I-X (1-10), each series will present 2 characters for the game…1 on the good side and 1 on the evil side. This game is done by the same people who did Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, Kingdom Heart’s 1 & 2 and FFX. Dissidia is about a war between the Goddess of light, Cosmos and the God of destruction, Chaos. Both gods have summon characters from all of those series to battle out for the rule of the world and….well, u get the whole picture.

The movement controls are pretty easy,in the game…you’ll be place like on a chess piece to move and engage which enemy u want. For this part, the DP plays an important role. You have to keep an eye on the DP and defeat certain foe to gain back those DP so that when u complete that level…you gain special items or monel or etc. In the battle mode, it’s not like your typical Street Fighter game (Down,forward+punch = Hadouken!!) but more simpler than that and you can customize for it too. The Battle system is the same as crisis core. The skills are assign in the Abbilities menu and you’ll gain new skills by learning more…and by that you have to level more, and by that…you gotta pLay more! It still follows 60% of the Final Fantasy gameplay mechanics like the leveling up, random items, challenging fights which sometimes I find it unfair that they can keep on dodging attacks. But one thing is for sure….the game, it’s flashy. Very flashy that your eyes are blinded by the awesomness attacks and combos until I questioned myself “how the hell did I do that!??Awesome!”

The game story begins with 10 characters at the Cosmo side, each character has a different story and different game play . The Story separates to few parts, the beginning would be about the character’s journey of obtaining their own crystal, next part is after Cosmos been defeated by Chaos…the characters are left to battle their way up to end Chaos’s reign of destruction. One sucky thing about playing this game is that the ordinary fiends are just the crystalize version of all the characters u see in the pic above, I want to beat up a CHOCOBO!! GArhhh!

But overall, I think this game is great for releasing stress…but it can also be a problem when you suck at playing it because the harder the difficulty level is, the more stressful you become and the more you want to bash the PSP up for those who have a short fuse. The problem about the AI in this game that they keep dodging every single attack (well…the hardest level). It’s annoying~ STAY STILL U DAMN COMPUTER!! I WANNA HIT U!! Oh, and the AI can be a jackass when you’re trying to do the achievement…like defeat them in 10 sec, they’ll dodge all the way so far u don’t even have the time to land a blow at them. Grrrrrr….

Deadpool Project progress 2

Here it is, the Zbrush version of Deadpool.Here I’m creating the normal map using Zbrush. It’s not that hard (well..if u have the tutorials…learning how to use it is pretty easy) This took me about 4-5 hours to sculpt it. Quite fun, some are abit tidious cuz still learning how to use it. Since I’m all done with the sculpting of the normal map…tommorow I shall crack my head on how I’m gonna texture this thing. Take note that I’ll be texturing a low poly model…so seeing where I’m suppose to paint the texture is gonna be a bit of a hassel.

After the sculpturing, create the normal map using the Zmapper. The process of creating the normal map is fast because it’s baking the high res detail I did on to the low resolution model. And when it’s done…it’ll look like the one below.

After that, I export the texture normal map as .bmp and then export the low res model as OBJ file. Then I import that OBJ file into 3ds Max 8 , See how low the poly is:

Now the final magic, applying the mesh with the normal map texture through the material editor and ta daa!! :

These concludes the process of modelling a character. Gotta love Zbrush ;P

Tommorow begin the 3rd phase…..Texturing!(measn coloring the model) >D

Deadpool Project progress.

Okay, for the Progress of the Deadpool project. I’ve done the base mesh for it. Now just have to detail it up, gonna use Zbrush for this..but learning now how to use Zbrush 3.1 (then again I’ve never used Zbrush for a long time). SO yippeee… gonna try to complete this as soon as I can. Ciowzz

I’m currently working on building my portfolio now, not that I’m changing job. I’m building a portfolio base on my skills that I’m mostly good at. So it’s like I’m building my own identity in the 3d Art industry, probably in the future I’ll get an awesome job in some hot places like Blizzard or Ubisoft, maybe Bungie! YEAH!
So now I’m working on Deadpool(a marvel character), as my 1st model for animation and also my skills in character modelling. It’s gonna take awhile but I’ll post up progress works while I’m at it. Chiowz!

Merdeka? Genting la!

Last week friday made a last minute decision to go Genting with Chris and Lionel, it is a last minute suggestion. True enough we need to get out of our fucking busy life and enjoy ourselves (not interested in staying back and watch the Merdeka Parade). So why not, just go! On Saturday before the big day I spent my afternoon at the warhammer 40000 game shop near Digi Mall and have a game with Eric, a very close game to say. Then after that met up with Chris and Lionel at 1 utama for dinner and buy snacks for Genting and later that night watch UP!

That movie is funny, very good I will say. I like the part that the old man tried to shoo Kevin(the big giant bird) away… the bird does the same thing as him, hahaha…funny!Those who haven’t, watch it!

Genting day! woke up at 8am and get ready…all packed and done. Waiting for Chris and Lionel to come and pick me up at the apartment while I was playing World of Warcraft. The journey was about 1 hour 2o minutes…mostly because Chris was speeding abit. THe place we stayed is called Genting Permai, my friend’s dad runs the place. We also met with his family. We had lunch with them and their kids(well…2 kids and one young adult) tag along to go to Genting. Had alot of fun especially the bumper car…oh! and also the go kart…wow, that’s like….so fun -___- , my kart was the best kart of all…. sigh. Then got back and had dinner and played pool with the family. Everything was alright except for our apartment room…. stove the spark not working and the TV cannot on. I thought they changed the TV when we were away. Oh well…who cares.

The next day(Merdeka day) we sat at the hall eating maggie mee and watching comedy shows till 12pm .12pm was suppose to check out, but we checked out at 1.45pm….we miss the place so much. Overall…the trip was okay for me. Didn’t felt like merdeka for us…cuz tmr we have to go back to work, fuck.

OUch….I say again, OUCH!

Last teusdayI had a sudden pain attack on my tooth, specifically my wisdom tooth. Now when it’s about the wisdom tooth…normally gives u nothing but pain depending on where it grows. The pain was unbearable seriously. So I made an apointment to get rid of it on Friday. So I have to ease the pain now with penadols (FYI I’m allergic to strong painkillers like Ponstan/Voltaren)

Oh, on Thursday seems like the worst day ever….haven’t had that since college, but this is so freakin sudden. But basically that’s work related, bullshit as ever but worst than that. Had an argument with the Project manager cuz I was not told about the dateline of the final render to complete. And he keep telling me I keep making excuses and playing my PSP while I’m rendering my work (FYI rendering means producing picture frames persecond depending on how long the video is, so while it’s rendering…you cannot disturb it if not some files may be corrupt and u have to do it all over again) So what the hell man, alot of things he was not clear about before then and all I asked for is just to give me a proper dateline….not “as soon as possible”. My version of as soon as possible is that I finish it by 1 day and not more and straight away hand it in.But how would people know it’s by lunch time when u so happen to mentioned it earlier in the morning, right? And u get blamed at for not listening to the hidden message residing inside “as soon as possible “

Anyway…enough about that, then came on Friday which is my dental surgery. This is my first ever surgery to remove my wisdom tooth. The procedure goes like this : The dentist will inject local anestetic at the area of my wisdom tooth (I had to take 3 jabs because the effect was not enough for me), then she’ll cut the gums around my wisdom tooth, after that she’ll drill a hole at the middle of the tooth and crack the tooth to pieces ( she had to like press the tool on the tooth hard in order to crack, seems like my tooth was a little too strong for her to crack..haha) Once it’s crack…and when it crack…it’s kinda painful because u can feel it at the jaw. She then extracts the broken pieces of that tooth out and stitch up the hole . Truthfully to say, it wasn’t much painful during the surgery… but the pain seriously does come after that.
When I reach back home, I follow the procedure of exchanging the bandage I bite on to stop the bleeding, almost dinner time…the local anestetic effect seems to have ware off and the pain came. OH MY GOD!!!! The pain was incredible! And I haven’t had my dinner yet to take my medicine! So I said, fuck it! I’m taking it now! FUCK! OW OW OW OW!!! I used the icepack gel to numb the pain while I’m eating porridge and because of my unfortunate allergies to strong painkillers…I can only take periceptimol/penadols, but it sure isn’t enough. Thankfully when I got back to my apartment…the pain wasn’t so much. I was able to sleep peacefully. But the next day my whole body was weak due to morning cold and periceptimol effect after taking 2 times (breakfast and lunch).

But I was all okay after an afternoon sleep and a late night pool with my friends at a pool place near my area. End up sleeping late at 4am and waking up today at 1.50pm >D

A new start?

For some strange reason, I couldn’t log in to my blogger account. Even when I try to log in to my gmail and my googletalk, keep having error. Hacked? Garrrhhh…. Anyway, I’ll be blogging here from now on. Hopefully this site doesn’t get hacked too.

Okay, for the past few weeks I’ve been terribly busy with things here and there. Not only my work but also at home and other activities. I’ve received the most shocking news of my life 2 weeks ago, my old good friend of mine who stayed near my place is getting married! He’s the same age as me and he is marrying his girlfriend (1 year older than him) whom they’ve been loving&living together for 5 years. Gosh, it’s a damn shocker and somehow it gave me a hard hit on my head that I’m so left out in this relationship thing and wonder whether I’m gonna get married in 10 years time??? Damn! That’s not the plan! Shit…. gotta get a girlfriend soon 0_0. Problem is that it’s not easy to find a girlfriend for me. Nvm about that, I need to focus a few things about myself first.

H1N1 is spreading more here in Malaysia, They’ve announced that maybe soon they’ll implement a new rule of a must to wear mask here. But somehow they don’t get it that this damn virus is spread by contact as well. Oh no! Gloves are gonna be a new fashion treand here! ahahahaa.
Now, what kind of a girldfriend should I find? hmmmm…..
